Tokyo, June 23, 2009 – Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ), a division of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) responsible for business operations in Japan, today announced that it would release a “PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) Rookie Hunters Pack” on July 23, 2009, as a limited offer, at a recommended retail price of 21,000yen (including tax). The bundle pack comprises PSP-3000 handheld entertainment system and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite*1 PSP the Best*2 from Capcom Co., Ltd.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite continues to show record breaking sales since its release in March 2008, shipping more than 3.4 million units*3 in Japan. Through this bundle pack, users will be able to enjoy immersive gameplay and gorgeous graphics of the blockbuster franchise on the advanced high contrast LCD screen of PSP-3000.

PSP-3000, included in this newly introduced bundle pack, will come in two different colors, Radiant Red and Vibrant Blue, to match the image of the notorious monsters “Teostra” and “Lunastra” from the game.

With this new offering, SCEJ will continue to further expand the PSP platform and create a new world of computer entertainment with innovative and exciting titles and an enhanced line-up of the PSP systems.
