Tokyo, September 19, 2012 – Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ), a division of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. responsible for business operation in Japan, today announced that “PlayStation®3(PS3®) starter pack” will be available at a Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of 25,980 yen (including tax) from November 22nd , 2012 for a limited offer.

“PlayStation®3(PS3®) starter pack” bundles the new PS3 featuring a new design and a downsized form factor with 250GB HDD in “Charcoal Black” and “Classic White” color and Everbody’s Golf 6 software. Everbody’s Golf 6 is the 6th installment of the nation-wide popular “Everybody’s Golf” series. By supporting the full HD graphics, PlayStation®Move motion controller and “Cross Play” that allows PS3® and PS Vita users to enjoy match or collaborative game play, the title delivers exciting and realistic game play which deserves to commemorate its 15th anniversary.

SCE also announced the introduction of PlayStation®Vita (PS Vita) 3G/Wi-Fi model*１ (PCH-1100 series) and Wi-Fi model (PCH-1000 series) in new “Cosmic Red” and “Sapphire Blue” color. These models will become available on November 15th, 2012, at a RRP of 29,980 and 24,980 yen (including tax) respectively.

Along with new color variations, SCEJ will introduce attractive services to PS Vita to further enhance the Platform. PS Vita users will be able to download Sony Corporation’s “Reader” application for free from PlayStation®Store and to enjoy more than 3,000 comic content through “Reader Store” from the middle of October. In addition, PlayStation®Plus (PS Plus), the subscription service package on PlayStation®Network , will become available on PS Vita in November.

Furthermore, SCEJ announced the new price for PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) portable entertainment system to be available at RRP of 13,800 yen (including tax) from September 20th , 2012, along with “PSP® value pack” in “Piano Black” and “Vibrant Blue” color at new RRP of 14,800 yen (including tax).

PSP® has gained tremendous support from fans and continuously increased its cumulative sales since its release in December 2004 in Japan. With strong support from software developers and publishers, more software title line-up are expected to be released for PSP® system including FINAL FANTASY III (SQUARE ENIX Co., Ltd.), SDGUNDAM GGENERATION OVERWORLD (NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc.), DANBALL-SENKI W (LEVEL-5 Inc. ), WORLD SOCCER Winning Eleven 2013(Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd.), ONEPIECE　ROMANCE DAWN～BOUKENO YOAKE～(NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc.), AKB1/153 RENAI SOUSENKYO (NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc.).

SCEJ will continue to deploy various measures to further expand the PlayStation business with strong support from users as well as 3rd party developers and publishers, and will vigorously enhance the world of computer entertainment system that is possible only on the PlayStation platforms.
